KEMBA Scholarship Program

At KEMBA Indianapolis Credit Union, we’re proud to support the dreams of our young members with the launch of our annual scholarship program. This opportunity is open exclusively to members who are ready to take the next step in their education.

Each year, we award scholarships to help ease the financial burden of college or trade school. In addition, this program gives our student members the encouragement and support they deserve.

Whether you’re a high schooler enrolling for the first time in college, technical or vocational school, or a young adult pursuing a new career path — your education matters to us. That’s why KEMBA is here to help.

 

KEMBA Indianapolis Credit Union awards annual scholarships to five dedicated student members to help support their next big step. As a result, we’re proud to help build brighter futures right here in our community.

KEMBA Indianapolis Credit Union will award a total of $5,000 in scholarships annually, divided among five students who will receive $1,000 each. 

KEMBA accepts scholarship applications from candidates pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees or vocational and technical certificates. Recipients must meet our eligibility requirements.

  • Must be an active KEMBA member in good standing at time of application who is not a KEMBA officer, board member, employee or volunteer.
  • Must not be an immediate family member of a KEMBA officer, board member, employee or volunteer.
  • Must be between the ages of 17-25 at the time of application. (If 17, a parent or guardian must sign giving permission to all rules and requirements)
  • At time of award, must be accepted or enrolled in a college, trade, or vocational school accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • At time of award, must be enrolled for next academic period for which the recipient is eligible and considered at least "part-time" at the selected institution, exclusive of summer or other optional academic periods and internship or externship programs approved by the institution.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent in most recent enrollment (high school or post-secondary institution, as applicable).
  • Must submit a complete application package with all required supporting documentation before the deadline announced prior to each application cycle.
  • Must provide at time of application complete and up-to-date transcripts and at least one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, etc.
  • Must compose an original, self-authored, non-AI assisted essay (minimum 500 words) on a topic to be designated by KEMBA for each application cycle.
  • Must not be a prior recipient of a KEMBA scholarship.
