Member Service Advisor I

Primary Objectives:

 

Provides service to our membership in person, online or by telephone. Completes loan and membership applications as needed.  Performs defined tasks to support the membership and other areas of the credit union.  Works in conjunction with front line staff to serve the membership in all areas of the credit union.

 

Reports to: Loan Services Director

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  1. Work as a team member with other Member Service Advisors to answer incoming telephones promptly and courteously and direct calls to other resources, as appropriate.
  2. Complete in-person, online and telephone consumer loan requests and coordinate decision and communication with underwriting.
  3. Provide in-person, online and telephone support for new memberships, transactions, and account maintenance.
  4. Conduct transactions for members in the branch as needed to support the Member Service Representatives.
  5. Provide vault, ATM, coin counter, and/or dual control support to the Member Service Representatives in the branch.
  6. Follow credit union policies and procedures relating to loan and deposit products.
  7. Assess member needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  8. Make proactive outbound efforts to solicit new business opportunities.
  9. Respond and fulfill member requests including account maintenance and other member needs.
  10. Serves as contact center and/or branch staff as service needs dictate.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

 

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous experience in a financial institution or similar service and sales experience.
  3. Good interpersonal communication skills
  4. Excellent attitude and member service skills

Able to perform well in a multi-task environment
