First, register in our referral portal using your KEMBA membership. This step creates your unique referral link and ensures KEMBA can track your referrals accurately.

Then, when someone uses your unique referral link and meets the qualifications, both of you receive a $25 deposit in your KEMBA accounts.

KEMBA Member Referral Program Terms & Conditions effective 06/01/2025

Please review these terms and conditions carefully prior to participating in the KEMBA Indianapolis Credit Union Member Referral Program (the “Program”). It is your responsibility to ensure you have read and understand the rules of the Program. By participating in the Program, you accept and agree to the terms and conditions of this Terms of Use Agreement. If you do not accept and agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement you may not participate in the Program.

Program Outline for KEMBA member and Applicant:

  • The Program is available for consumer accounts only, no business or not-for-profit accounts.
  • Members assume all tax liabilities for all incentives/bonuses paid.
  • We reserve the right to cancel, modify or terminate the Program at any time for any reason without notice.
  • We reserve the right to disqualify any referring KEMBA member or referred individual at any time from participation in the Program at our discretion, for any reason, including, but not limited to, fraudulent or illegal activity, Program abuse, or failure to comply with any of the terms or conditions of the Program.
  • The referred applicant must open these qualifying products/ services and maintain an active status within the first 90 days of account opening.
  • A savings account (01) with a minimum opening deposit of $5.00
  • An active KEMBA checking account and/ or Loan product (Auto, Personal, Home Equity or Credit Card)
  • Active is defined as at least 1 deposit or loan payment transaction per month.
  • If applicant is a minor, the qualifications for a new Kids/ Teen Club membership are a savings account (01) with active monthly deposit activity by direct deposit or automatic transfer in the 90-day period.
  • The qualifying products/ services and activities must be completed within the first 90 days of account opening.
  • Credit Union tracking for the payments of any referral will not exceed the 90-day period.
  • A minimum $5.00 balance must always be maintained in the primary savings account (01).
  • Referring members must be eighteen years of age or older to participate in the Program.
  • Referrals must be documented in our referral system; members must create an account using their email address and other required information.
  • KEMBA Credit Union employees and members of their household are not eligible to participate in the Program or receive any of the Program referral incentives.
  • You must have a membership account in good standing to be eligible to refer. Accounts in good standing will be deemed at our discretion.
  • The referred applicant must use the referring member’s unique referral link when opening an account using our online application or present the referring member’s information when opening an account in person for incentive/bonus to be paid.
  • Incentive/bonus will be credited to the primary savings account once the referred individual opens the stated qualifying account(s), keeps the account open and meets activity requirements for 90 days and the account has been reviewed by the credit union.
  • Only one referring KEMBA member will be paid for each new account referral.
  • There is a limit of 24 referrals with a maximum payment of $599 annually for the referring member.

KEMBA Applicant Specifics:

  • All memberships and accounts are subject to credit union approval.
  • You must meet all regular eligibility requirements for membership.
  • You must open the qualifying membership account(s) and meet the activity and other requirements.
  • You must not have had any membership, account or loan with KEMBA Credit Union during the preceding 24 months or had any account or loan previously charged off.
  • You must use the unique referral link when opening an account online or present the referring member’s information when opening an account in person or online for incentive/bonus to be paid.
  • You waive your privacy rights and any other requirements for us to disclose the opening of an account and meeting stated qualifications to pay the incentive/bonus to the referring KEMBA Credit Union member.
  • Accounts must be open for 90 days and remain in good standing (at our discretion) for an incentive/bonus to be paid. Incentive/bonus will be credited to the primary savings account.
  • Limit one incentive/bonus for being a new member. As a new KEMBA member, you may then be eligible to refer other new members to the credit union to earn the referral incentive/bonus.
  • Eligibility for new accounts is verified through Experian and ChexSystems.

All loans are subject to credit approval and underwriting criteria. Membership with KEMBA is required. If you are a non member, applying for a loan will also initiate a membership application.
